Novack

Private Investigator

Detroit, 1979. Some cases stay with you forever.

The Series

Dick Novack

1979. Dick Novack runs a private investigation and security firm out of a second-floor office on Grand River Avenue, on the west side of Detroit. The desk is scarred oak. The ashtray is always full. The .38 stays in the holster unless it doesn't.

These are his cases—the ones that kept him up at night, the ones that taught him what people are capable of, the ones he never forgot. Told through his eyes then, and his son's reflection now.

Novack Files is an audio drama series based on true stories from three generations of Detroit private investigators.

About the Author

Jay Novack

Some stories you inherit. Some stories you can't escape. Jay Novack grew up in the shadow of his father's cases—the late-night phone calls, the files that never got put away, the things that were never quite explained. Novack Files is his attempt to make sense of them.
